UTA rallies to sweep App State on Saturday
ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington seemed destined to split a doubleheader with Appalachian State on Saturday at Allan Saxe Field, trailing five runs going to the seventh.
The Mavericks were able to push five across in the seventh, taking advantage of two errors, and produced the game-winning hit in the eighth off the bat of Britnea Barilli.
"I really stayed low in my legs and tried to work through the ball," Barilli said. "We got down 6-0 in the first inning. I knew that any hit will start something and we wanted to get as many hits together to string together for the win.
