FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Sun Belt Conference sends multiple teams to the Postseason National Invitation Softball Championship for the second time in three years as Appalachian State and UTA make the 19-team field.
Action get underway on Thursday, May 16 with Appalachian State taking on Rutgers at 9 a.m. CT in Lynchburg, Va. And UTA at Stephen F. Austin at 6 p.m. CT. The Mountaineers are making their first Postseason NISC appearance, while the Mavericks are making their third-straight appearance.
Each regional site is played in a double-elimination format. The four regional winners advance to the championship round set for May 24-26 in Fort Collins, Colo.
