NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference updated its women’s and men’s basketball conference schedules Thursday. This season, the 12 schools will be split into an East Division and a West Division, only playing divisional opponents during the regular season. Additionally, all 12 schools will compete in the Sun Belt Conference Championship.
The first conference games are set for New Year's Day 2021. The slate includes men’s defending regular season champions Little Rock hosting UTA and Coastal Carolina hosting the 2019-20 conference champions Georgia State. Defending women’s basketball regular season champion Troy hosts App State. The Trojans claimed the program's first outright Sun Belt women's basketball regular season title after posting a school record 25 wins including 16 in league play.
