Watford striker Troy Deeney charged with violent conduct by FA after grabbing Joe Allen's face and neck

The Football Association has charged Watford striker Troy Deeney with violent conduct after his viscous clash with Stoke midfielder Joe Allen on Saturday.

Deeney grabbed Allen's face and neck and lifted him off his feet after the pair clashed in Stoke's 1-0 victory on Saturday.

Both players were cautioned by referee Michael Oliver at the time but Deeney has been charged retrospectively because he was not booked for that specific incident.
