Watford 0-1 Stoke: Heurelho Gomes own goal gifts Mark Hughes' men a rare away day victory

Stoke City clinched just their second away win of the season courtesy of Heurelho Gomes’ misfortune.

Charlie Adam’s header from a corner in the 29th minute cannoned off the post and Watford goalkeeper Gomes could only divert the ball into his own net.

The hosts struggled to carve out a series of dangerous chances and Stoke held off relentless pressure in the closing stages to move into the top half of the Premier League.
