Stoke have fined Erik Pieters £70,000 after he attended a nightclub on the night before last Saturday's home defeat by Everton.
The 29-year-old Holland defender was dropped for the match after breaking a curfew set by manager Paul Lambert by attending a VIP launch party in Hale with his wife Nermina Pieters-Mekic, a Bosnian-Dutch singer, model and star of the reality TV show Real Housewife of Cheshire.
Stoke players are banned from going to nightclubs less than 48 hours before a match, but pictures emerged of Pieters and his wife arriving at the party.

Club chairman Peter Coates said: 'Erik is a very experienced player so we were extremely disappointed with him for going out before such a big game.
