Stoke City have confirmed that Ryan Shawcross has ended his tenure at the club, leaving him free to join David Beckham's Inter Miami side in the US.
In a statement on Friday, the club said Shawcross' contract has been terminated by mutual consent, allowing the 33-year-old to 'pursue new playing opportunities in the United States' and close in on his move to the MLS franchise.
Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes called Shawcross an 'outstanding role-model, both on and off the pitch' and said his contribution to the Potters after 14 years with the club 'cannot be overstated'.
