Stoke City have signed former England defender Phil Jagielka on a deal until the end of the season.
Jagielka had to be released by Derby on Friday after the EFL refused to approve a contract extension as they wait for funding proof for the rest of the season from the club's administrators.
The 39-year-old joined the Rams on a short-term deal in the summer following his release by Sheffield United.
He made 21 appearances for them, the last in the FA Cup against Coventry.
His deal with Derby was not due to expire until Monday but, given that there was no chance of an extension, they released Jagielka immediately.
