Ostersunds coach Graham Potter has emerged as a surprise candidate for the Stoke City manager's job.
The 42-year-old is the only Englishman to be managing a side in European competition this season and his Swedish side face Arsenal in the Europa League next month.
Potter played for Stoke as a young full back from 1993 to 1996 and helped the club reach the Championship play-offs under Lou Macari.
He has earned plaudits for his innovative coaching methods and has been compared with other top young European coaches such as Julian Nagelsmann at Hoffenheim.
