Manchester City missed the chance to climb to second in the Premier League after being held to a goalless draw by Stoke at the Etihad on Wednesday night.
Sergio Aguero wore the armband for Pep Guardiola's side but the Argentina forward failed to inspire his side to victory against a dogged Stoke side, ensuring City remain 10 points behind leaders Chelsea.
Mark Hughes' side put in a solid defensive performance at the Etihad. They were not made to work too hard by City, however, who failed to create many clear-cut opportunities - despite a late barrage on the visiting goal.
