Stoke City have asked about Senegal international midfielder Papa Badou Ndiaye.
The 27-year-old only joined Galatasaray for £6.5million last summer after West Ham failed to follow up initial interest in signing him.
Crystal Palace had also watched him closely in Turkey and during the Africa Cup of Nations.
He scored seven goals from midfield last season for Osmanlispor and has managed one in 16 games this season for Galatasaray.
The Potters, currently managerless following their sacking of Mark Hughes after their FA Cup exit last weekend, are looking to bring in a central midfielder to bring some solidarity the position.
