Stoke City chairman Peter Coates has insisted club football has never been cleaner, despite the Daily Telegraph sting operation which cost Sam Allardyce the England job.
The 61-year-old's position was deemed untenable by the FA after he was filmed by undercover reporters making a range of damaging remarks and offering advice on circumventing rules on third-party ownership.
Coates believes the governing body were right to dismiss Allardyce, but insisted the former Newcastle United boss has not broken any laws.
