The order of the day was to put a stop to successive heavy league defeats and Saturday's 1-1 draw with West Brom certainly did that. It was a game the hosts dominated from start to finish and despite a nervy first half the Potters came out for the second period playing the kind of football not seen on home turf for a number of months.
Having been just two minutes away from three points and a clean sheet, the Baggies' late equaliser was a cruel blow but the overall performance gives the manager a platform to build on in the coming weeks.
