League Two strugglers Colchester United have sacked Matthew Etherington after only 16 games in charge.
The U's 10th defeat under the former West Ham and Stoke City winger - a 1-0 home loss to Gillingham - left them languishing in 22nd place in the fourth-tier.
The 42-year-old had only been installed at the helm in November, stepping up from the Under 21 job following the sacking of Ben Garner.
But the woeful run of results has prompted yet another managerial change, with the club announcing their decision to part ways with the coach in a brief statement on Monday.
