Monday's 3-1 win over Swansea completed a timely trio of victories over the league's bottom three sides and is a result that catapults Stoke City up the league into 12th position.
Much of the prematch talk was about Swans old boys Joe Allen and Wilfried Bony, who conspired to duly deliver a brace of killer blows to send their former club back to South Wales pointless.
While there were a few scary moments for the home side, it was a game they were ultimately in control of and having hit the woodwork three times they can perhaps even feel aggrieved that they didn't win by a wider margin.
