Stoke City have signed FC Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal, the Premier League club have announced.
The Dutch international signs for the Potters to replace Philipp Wollscheid, who completed a deadline day switch to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.
Aged 24, Martins Indi has played for Porto since the summer of 2014, signing for the Liga NOS club despite interest from some of Europe's biggest sides - including Premier League giants Manchester United.
He impressed at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil as part of Louis van Gaal's Netherlands team, and Mark Hughes will be hoping he replicates similar form at the Bet365 Stadium for the rest of the campaign.
