Charlie Adam has hit out at Gordon Strachan’s squad selection and apparent lack of communication as he vented his frustration at his continued exile from the Scotland set-up.
The Stoke City midfielder has played just 72 minutes of competitive football under Strachan and has not represented his country since coming on in a 1-0 friendly win against Qatar in June 2015.
The former Rangers playmaker also claimed his former Ibrox team-mate Alan Hutton, now at Aston Villa, chose to retire from international football last week because Hearts right-back Callum Paterson is ahead of him in the pecking order.
