Brentford hold talks with former Oldham boss Dean Holden over the assistant coach position, as manager Thomas Frank looks to replace Brian Riemer following his departure from the role

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has spoken to former Oldham manager Dean Holden as he considers potential new assistants.

Frank saw his assistant coach Brian Riemer leave last week after four years to become head coach at Belgian side Anderlecht and wants another bright thinker to join his backroom staff.

Holden, 43, who made over 360 appearances during his playing career as a right-back, has previously worked as assistant and boss at Championship sides Bristol City and Stoke City.
