We're just a month away from National Signing Day, which means there's a bevy of rumors surrounding the Stanford Cardinal's efforts on the recruiting trail. Here's the biggest recruiting stories from around Palo Alto for December 6th.
Stanford Still Leads For Demetris Robertson
5-Star Savannah (GA) athlete Demetris Robertson has yet to visit Stanford's campus, but he's still got the Cardinal at the top of his commitment list. However, he still needs to take the university's acceptance test one more time and raise his score by 100 points. Only then will he be accepted to the university and his offer will become valid.
“It is really hard,” Robertson said. “But I want to achieve that goal of getting accepted into Stanford. I’m not saying I am going to Stanford for sure if I make the score or anything like that, but I want to be able to say I was a good enough student to get accepted into a great university like Stanford.”
Keep an eye on in-state Georgia, though. UGA defensive line commit Julian Rochester point blank asked whether or not Robertson would commit to the Dawgs at US Army All-American Bowl practice this week. All Robertson said, before turning the convo back to Stanford, was that he has "a surprise for Georgia fans."

3-Star DE Chooses Stanford
3-Star Lake Forest (Ill.) Academy defensive end Thomas Schaffer verbally committed to the Cardinal on Wednesday over fellow finalists Oregon and Wisconsin.
Schaffer officially visited all three schools back in November, but Stanford just felt right.
"All of my visits were great but Stanford was just different," Schaffer said. "I just needed to talk with my family and my head coach and think everything completely through to the smallest bit and it was Stanford."
Schaffer is likely to switch over to offensive tackle at the next level. His commitment is the 19th for Stanford and solidifies their haul as the #1 overall cache in the Pac-12 for the Class of 2016.
