The Stanford Cardinal are heavily recruiting four-star safety Chaz Ah You (Provo, UT) in the 2017 cycle, and Ah You is reciprocating that interest. After visiting in May, he has kept in constant communication with the coaching staff:
"I've been staying in contact with Coach Akina and Coach Anderson, just working out all of the little kinks with the admissions process just to make sure I'm set on that," he said. "But our relationship has gotten really good with Coach Anderson and Coach Akina. They check up on me all the time. Especially during the school year, too, they always make sure I'm doing the things I need to stay qualified to be admitted into Stanford.
"Everything is coming along well. Everything is improving - my ACT scores are improving, so I think I'll be good. I'm still going to try to improve my score, get it up a little bit more. My GPA and everything is fine, it's just my ACT that (is a focus for improvement)."
Ah You obviously has hopes of playing in the NFL, but there are other things about Stanford he is "very high" on, too.
"They tell me that Stanford isn't just a four-year choice, it's a choice for the rest of my life," Ah You said. "So that's something that obviously drives me a lot. It's hard to say no to setting up your future. That's definitely a big part of it."
Several other schools are pursuing the blue-chip recruit, including BYU, Oklahoma, UCLA and Washington, but he already plans to take one of his official visits to Stanford.
The 6'2", 200-pounder is ranked as the No. 16 safety and No. 145 overall prospect in the country.
