Stanford had one player selected in Thursday’s 2021 MLS SuperDraft, as Cardinal player Logan Panchot was picked No. 32 overall (No. 5 in the 2nd round) by D.C. United.
The St. Louis native was part of the squad that won the 2017 NCAA title with Stanford, and in his college career played 62 games across three seasons, scoring three goals and 11 assists along the way. Team captain in 2019, Panchot split time between midfield and right back and received numerous academic honors while at Stanford.
Panchot didn’t play in 2020, like the rest of the Pac-12 and most of the NCAA overall, with the fall soccer season suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
