Last night at the ESPYs, Stanford took home both the men’s and the women’s Capital One Cup, becoming the first school to claim trophy on both sides of the standings.
Both the men’s and women’s athletics programs were the top performing Division I programs in the nation, as the women’s programs captured a record 5th cup, while it was the Cardinal men’s second cup.
With these victories, Stanford earned $400,000 in student-athlete scholarships ($200K per program) and was honored at the 26th ESPYS by former Stanford stars Nneka Ogwumike and Zach Ertz.
