Stanford made a splash on National Signing Day, grabbing 22 commitments from players from across the nation.
But while most of the players had announced their commitments days, weeks, or even months ago, the Cardinal managed to snag a few headlines when EJ Smith, son of NFL legend Emmitt Smith, announced he was picking Stanford over Florida, his dad’s alma mater.
Right now, the class is ranked #22 in the nation by 247 Sports, and third in the Pac-12, behind Washington and Oregon. Altogether, the Cardinal picked up 22 commits from 10 states.
Typically, Stanford takes a quarterback recruit in almost every class, but there is no quarterback recruit in this class because four-star QB Tanner McKee, who signed in 2018, will be joining this class after he completes his LDS Mission in Brazil.
