Stanford jumps to 18 in the College Football Playoff rankings

After several teams in front of Stanford lost this past weekend the Cardinal jumped from number 24 in the College Football Playoff rankings up to 18. Stanford, of course, handled their business against Rice Saturday night in the Cardinal’s final regular season game.

Elsewhere around the Pac-12 the Washington Huskies moved up to number 4 after Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes. Michigan only dropped to number 5 on the strength of victories over the next 3 teams behind them. The Colorado Buffaloes came in at 8th, the USC Trojans inched up to 11, and the Utah Utes moved up 2 spots to number 20 despite losing to Colorado Saturday night.
