In the first half, the Stanford’s offense found every way possible to not put points on the board. They consistently moved the ball down the field, but turnovers, penalties, and a missed field goal that hit the very top of the upright left Stanford down 10-0.
With the offense struggling, the defense had to start making big plays. At the start of the second half, Quenton Meeks picked off Deshone Kizer and returned it to the house.
On the next Notre Dame drive, Dallas Lloyd picked off Kizer and returned it to mid field.
