Stanford senior cornerback Ronnie Harris, who's second in the Pac-12 with 10 pass break-ups, will miss Saturday's game against California with an ankle injury.
However, Cardinal coach David Shaw did report that Harris has no broken bones, as was initially feared when Harris was carted to the locker room during Stanford's 38-36 loss to Oregon on Saturday.
"He is going to work like crazy to come back next week versus Notre Dame," Shaw said.
Redshirt freshman Alameen Murphy will start in Harris' place, setting up a Cardinal secondary that will be particularly inexperienced against Cal quarterback Jared Goff and a deep wide receiving corps.
