The Green Bay Packers have selected Stanford Linebacker Blake Martinez with the 131st Pick overall in the 2016 NFL Draft. Martinez was an impact player for the Stanford defense leading the team in tackles in 2015. He will now join former Stanford teammate Ty Montgomery as a member of the Green Bay Packers.
Martinez had a mediocre combine performance that many believed did not show his true abilities. Martinez certainly impressed on the field providing plenty of outstanding game film for NFL scouts to review. Martinez was in competition with several other elite linebackers in this draft class including; Leonard Floyd from Georgia, Darron Lee from Ohio State, Jaylon Smith from Notre Dame, Myles Jack from UCLA, Su'a Cravens of USC and many, many more.
