Five 'multi-tool' Pac-12 players who could be game-changers

Remember when Stanford’s Owen Marecic was a novelty? A football player ... in today’s modern game ... starting on both sides of the ball? Offense and defense?

In a way, he still is. Finding players who start on both sides is still pretty rare, and he did it at inside linebacker and fullback. But the spirit of Marecic rings true in today’s Pac-12. If you don’t have a “multi-tool” player who can affect the game in more than one phase, you’re behind the times.

“When you have guys that are that good and that athletic, you just can’t keep them off the field,” Stanford head coach David Shaw said.
