The College Football Playoff selection committee will release its second of six rankings at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN, and as we head down the final stretch of the season, it's time to pause and evaluate which teams should be feeling confident about their place in the playoff race and which still have some work to do.

Here's a look at which playoff contenders are in great shape and good shape, and which teams have cause for concern:
