STANFORD, Calif. -- Stanford offensive coordinator Mike Bloomgren couldn't wait to get back home before reviewing the damage Washington inflicted upon Stanford in last Friday's 44-6 loss.
"I was in a bit of shock," Bloomgren said. "I had to watch film on the flight, just to see what went wrong. Because I was unsure as to how things happened."
Nothing that Bloomgren saw on the two-hour flight from Seattle back to the Bay Area could soothe his mind. The tape was just as ugly as the carnage that had preceded it at Husky Stadium: Washington recorded eight sacks -- the most Stanford had allowed since Walt Harris was coach in 2006.
