3-point stance: The Pac-12 might not be dead in playoff after all

1. Until I saw the new college football rankings, I was convinced that the Pac-12 champion had no chance at making the College Football Playoff field. But it never occurred to me that Stanford would fall only to No. 11 and Utah only to No. 13 after their losses last Saturday. But given that every team from the Utes to No. 1 Clemson has at least one top-13 opponent, and six teams could have two games against other top-13 teams, I think I wrote the Pac-12 off too soon. In fact, these rankings indicate that two-loss teams shouldn’t surrender their playoff hopes just yet.
