Stanford University has a proud history of athletic excellence. A rich part of that history is the 2009 women's soccer team. The Cardinal made the NCAA final that year, but that team's legacy still lives on today as five members of that squad are currently competing in the 2015 FIFA World Cup.
Christen Press from the graduating class of 2011 and Kelly O'Hara from 2010 are representing the United States. Alina Garciamendez from the class of 2013 and Teresa Noyola from 2012 are representing Mexico. And Ali Riley from the 2010 graduating class competes for New Zealand, now in her third World Cup appearance.
