Stanford Football Recruiting: Tuesday Rumors Roundup

The Stanford Cardinal ended their season on a high note with wins over UCLA and Maryland to close their season, and look to reload for 2015 and beyond on the recruiting trail. Who’s on their way to Palo Alto? Who’s still deciding? All this and more in our recruiting roundup:

TRENT IRWIN PICKS STANFORD

Stanford's recruiting class shot up the ranks with the commitment of the #8 wideout in the country, Trent Irwin. The four-star recruit picked the Cardinal over Arizona State, and headlines Stanford's #38 ranked class in the country.

Irwin was named an U.S. Army All-American and finished his high school career as the state of California's all-time leader in receptions and yards.

HOLE OPENS AT LEFT TACKLE

Stanford's star left tackle, Andrus Peat, has announced that he will declare for the NFL draft, creating a hole in the Cardinal's offense line. Peat is expected to be a first round pick.

Right tackle Kyle Murphy will likely make the switch to take over at left tackle. Stanford doesn't have any tackles in this recruiting class, but guard Nick Wilson or center Brian Chaffin could change positions to help with depth.
