The Stanford Cardinal are tasked with replacing eight starters from a 2014 defense that finished second in the nation in scoring defense (16.4 points a game) and third in total defense (282.4 yards per game).
One of the players who appears to have an inside track at a starting job is Kevin Palma, who is currently competing with senior Noor Davis for the team's starting inside linebacker job.
Per a Visalia Times-Delta report, "media reports from Stanford football practice strongly suggest that Palma fared very well. Stanford coach David Shaw has to release a post-spring depth chart, but appears that Palma and Davis will continue to compete for the starting spot when fall camp opens in August."
The 6-foot-2, 253-pound Palma has three years of eligibility left. He appeared in 11 games for the Cardinal in 2014, registering 18 tackles and 1.5 tackles for a loss.
