The Stanford Cardinal host the UC Davis Aggies in their season opener, looking to put last year's Rose Bowl defeat behind them.
They left little doubt right from the start, scoring on a 60-yard punt return by Ty Montgomery following UC Davis' first possession of the game.
The Stanford offense followed with a 12 play, 67 yard touchdown drive capped by a Kevin Hogan score from a yard out.
Hogan added two more touchdowns through the air connecting with receiver Michael Rector on a 40-yard score, followed by a 52-yard strike to Christian McCaffrey to put Stanford out to a commanding 28-0 lead in the second quarter.
Ty Montgomery took a 44-yard pass to the house to put Stanford up by 35 late in the half.
Defensively, Stanford shut down the Aggies offense holding them to just 50 total yards in the first half.
Hogan and the Stanford offense posted 274 total yards against the Aggies defense.
