The #4 quarterback in the Class of 2016, K.J. Costello, announced his commitment to Stanford over Michigan and USC at a press conference this afternoon.
He is the #2 pro-style quarterback in a his class, standing 6’4″ and weighing 215 pounds, and he wanted to play in a pro-style offensive system, but also stressed the importance academics was weighing in his decision.
“I just picked the one that was best for my future and truly felt like home from the beginning,” Costello said.
Costello (Coto de Caza, CA) had been interested in Stanford and USC early in his recruiting process, but Michigan made a late push to sign him with the hiring of head coach Jim Harbaugh.
He will be expected to compete for the starting job in 2016 with returning starter Kevin Hogan entering his final season of eligibility in 2015.
