The Stanford Cardinal have their fair share of impact talents to work with on their road to College Football Playoff glory in 2015, and these next guys are the biggest assets of all. Here's our list of the 6 Best Stanford Football Players For 2015.
6. LB Kevin Anderson
The defense has been hammered by graduations and departures, so it's up to Anderson to step up as one of the prime impact talents on that side of the ball going forward. The fifth-year senior is the definition of a blue collar linebacker, trading flash for grit and using his effort to counterbalance the limitations of his size and speed. An honorable mention for the All Pac-12 team last year, we wouldn't be surprised if he secured a spot on the conference squad in 2015.
5. WR Devon Cajuste
Cajuste's decision to remain in Palo Alto rather than test the NFL water will be to his benefit. Undeniably Kevin Hogan's main target going forward, the senior wideout will be able to showcase his tight end/wide receiver hybrid style to pro scouts in what is poised to be a major year from him production-wise.
4. LB Blake Martinez
Martinez's debut as an inside linebacker in 2014 was a MAJOR success. What will he do to follow it up in 2015? Well, after a team-high 102 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks, three interceptions and two forced fumbles, the sky is the limit for the 6-2, 247-pounder dubbed by his peers as "Machinez."
3. OG Joshua Garnett
Garnett will be the interior anchor for the Cardinal's offensive line in 2015, using his 6-5, 325-pound frame to truck would-be tacklers in run protection. He's a surefire NFL prospect who has a knack for getting into the second level on pulling plays and trucking blockers down the field.
2. OT Kyle Murphy
Yet another Stanford offensive lineman on the verge of a NFL payday, the former five-star recruit hit his stride in 2014 en route to a All Pac-12 Second Team selection. His length and drive at 6-7, 298 pounds will be absolutely critical to Stanford's offense both on run plays and in pass protection.
1. QB Kevin Hogan
Hogan's strong finish to the 2014 campaign is proof positive that he has the tools to become one of the nation's elite quarterbacks in 2015. He's already started 32 games from the program and won more than his fair share of pivotal games, and we're convinced that this is the year where it all comes together from a consistency standpoint. Get ready.
