The Stanford Cardinal are primed for a run at the Pac-12 North title this coming season, but these next five teams present a major challenge to the team's prospective run towards a championship. Here's our list of the 5 Toughest Games On The Stanford Cardinal's 2015 Schedule.
5. @ Northwestern Wildcats (September 5th)
Here's your trap game, and it's sitting right there staring at us in the fact as the season opener. Northwestern has so much speed in the backfield and in their receiving corps that they'll present a matchup nightmare for anyone they face. This one could get weird, especially taking into account the Cardinal's cross-country road trip.
4. Arizona Wildcats (October 3rd)
This is a partial bullet dodged because it's in Palo Alto, but taking on the defending Southern division champs at any time and any place in 2015 is going to be a knockdown, drag-out struggle.
3. @ USC Trojans (September 19th)
The USC Trojans are the en vogue pick as the next Pac-12 superpower, and that has a lot to do with Heisman candidate Cody Kessler and the Trojans' wide array of offensive fireworks. This is as big of a early-season road test as the schedule makers could have possibly dreamt up.
2. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (November 28th)
The game's at home which is nice, but it's still Notre Dame/Stanford no matter how you slice it. This showdown will be made even tougher knowing that Irish QB Malik Zaire will have a full season's worth of work behind him before this regular season-ending clash.
1. Oregon Ducks (November 14th)
What better way to assert yourselves as the new kings of the Pac-12 North than by deposing the reigning division champions in a key November clash. Don't be fooled, however -- the Ducks are loaded with weapons on both sides of the ball, regardless of Marcus Mariota's departure to the NFL.
