A familiar name is out of the Milwaukee Brewers’ lineup and a reasonably unfamiliar name is in the Cardinals’ lineup for Wednesday’s series finale at Busch Stadium.
Milwaukee right fielder Christian Yelich, who burned the Cardinals with eight homers in the teams’ first six meetings, is getting a rest after going hitless (two walks) in the first two games of this three-game series.
Meanwhile, rookie Lane Thomas, who has had two pinch hits good for four runs batted in since coming up from Class AAA Memphis, will make his first big-league start in center field. Regular center fielder Harrison Bader (strained right hamstring) was activated before the game but did not start.
