CINCINNATI • Kolten Wong belted his second homer in his last three starts when he rifled his fourth of the season into the right-center-field seats in the fifth inning to extend the Cardinals’ lead over Cincinnati to 3-0.
Randal Grichuk already had homered in the second to extend the Cardinals’ streak of consecutive games in which they had homered to 23, behind only San Diego’s 26 for the longest in the majors this season.
GRICHUK'S HR PUTS CARDS AHEAD 2-0
The Cardinals had scored only four runs, all on solo homers, over the last three games, all of which had been losses.
