Kolten Wong ripped a grand slam over the right field wall on Cincinnati starter Raisel Iglesias' 3-2 pitch to give the Cardinals a 4-1 lead going into the fifth inning Monday night.
It all started when Yadier Molina doubled to lead off the bottom of the fourth. He moved to third on rookie Stephen Piscotty's single.
Dan Johnson popped out, but Peter Bourjos was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Pitcher Lance Lynn, who had one single earlier in the game struck out.
Wong then blasted his 11th home run of the season and his first grand slam since June 3, 2014 to put the Cardinals ahead in the inning.
