Wong's grand slam powers Cards to win

Kolten Wong’s grand slam in the bottom of the fourth inning launched the Cardinals toward a 4-1 win against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday night.

Catcher Yadier Molina, who left the game not feeling well before the bottom of the fifth inning, led off the bottom of the fourth with a double. He moved to third base on rookie Stephen Piscotty’s single in the next at-bat.

After Dan Johnson flew out, Peter Bourjos was hit by Raisel Iglesias’ pitch to load the bases. Pitcher Lance Lynn struck out.

So now with two outs, Wong was worked to a 3-2 count before ripping Iglesias’ next pitch over the right field fence.
