WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. • Second baseman Kolten Wong, who stirred up a firestorm Sunday when he made known his considerable disappointment about possibly not being an everyday player at the start of the season, tripled to right to drive in a run in the second inning Monday night. Wong then came home on a single by pitcher Carlos Martinez as the Cardinals regained the lead at 3-2 over the Houston Astros.
Wong, hitting .170 at game time, has had two triples in his last four starts.
Houston's Collin McHugh, making his first Grapefruit League start after battling arm fatigue for part of the spring, was gone after 47 pitches and two outs in the second inning.
