PHOENIX •Back in the lineup after 2½ games off for a mental and physical break, second baseman Kolten Wong said he learned that “I don’t like sitting out.”
Expanding, Wong said, “I just learned about myself and ... not taking things so serious. I’ve done a lot for this team this year and, instead of looking at the bad picture of me kind of having to scuffle right now, I need to realize the good things I’ve done so far.”
Wong watched with interest as Greg Garcia, his longtime double-play partner at the University of Hawaii and throughout the Cardinals’ minor-league system, found himself in the eye of the storm defensively at second base on Monday.
