ATLANTA -- Had the official scorer been a bit more generous, Kolten Wong would have finished Saturday's 12-2 win with his third career four-hit game. Manager Mike Matheny even boldly noted that Wong could have been credited with a five-hit performance.
As it was, Wong settled for the three uncontested hits he collected while reaching base five times in what was a banner night for the lower third of the Cardinals' lineup, which went 6-for-14 with five runs scored and three RBIs. It was an especially uplifting performance for Wong, who began the week utterly bamboozled by Pittsburgh lefty Francisco Liriano.
