Just over a week ago we looked into the Cardinals reported interest in free agent starter Jake Odorizzi. Speaking for myself the conclusion was that starting pitching is volatile and the Cardinals have a lot of question marks. A player like Odorizzi could add some more depth to the rotation when inevitably the pitching gets tested.
It looks like that is already happening, too.
Shildt says Miles Mikolas is set to throw a side session “this weekend,” and they’ll assess from there. So that’ll be at least a week of rest from his last throw.
