The Justice Department this week approved a deal in which Walt Disney Co. is trying to purchase many of 21st Century Fox’s components, a deal that originally was to include Fox’s 22 regional sports networks, including Fox Sports Midwest — the St. Louis TV home of the Cards and Blues. Also proposed to go to Disney in a transaction that was announced in December and now is valued at $71.3 billion are Fox’s television and film studios, cable TV channels including National Geographic and FX, Fox’s stake (30 percent) in video-streaming outlet Hulu and nearly 40 percent of Sky, a major programming provider in the U.
