Earlier in the season it was announced that reliever Matt Bowman suffered from Raynaud’s Syndrome, a condition that causes some areas of the body to feel numb. This condition particularly effects the hands and feet. Obviously, this is a concerning issue for a MLB pitcher.
After hitting the Disabled List in June following complications from the condition, Bowman returned to the big league club, then sent down shortly after. He made a few appearances for the AAA club before undergoing season-ending surgery on his affected hands.
The cool thing is he tweeted out before and after photos of his hands.
