ST. LOUIS • Any lingering interest the Cardinals have in third baseman Josh Donaldson, after what seems like months of courtship with Toronto, will hinge on the cost of acquiring him and their view of how healthy he is for the stretch run and whether he can help.
Donaldson, a former American League MVP, cleared revocable waivers Friday morning, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.
