The memories flood back to Adam Wainwright. Many of his best times and a couple not as good have taken place at venerable, albeit remodeled, Wrigley Field, where the Cardinals’ righthander is slated to start Friday as his team tries to stay alive in the chase for the postseason.
“I’ve pitched a lot of games there,” said Wainwright. Twenty-four to be exact, 19 of them starts, 11 of them victories. At 11-2, he has won more games at Wrigley Field than any other stadium but Busch Stadium (79).
Wainwright twice has won 20 games in a season.
